I am a 39 year-old social worker and birth doula who lives with my husband Erik, and children Faith (8) and Cole (5) in Valley Cottage, N.Y. I am a lifelong avid runner who will be running in my first NYC Marathon on November 2nd. I am so thrilled to run in the NYC Marathon for ‘Team Ride to Give’, located in Nyack, N.Y. ‘Ride to Give’ is a non-profit charity that turns athletic ability into fundraising power for children who are injured, disabled, or ill.

I run for those that are not able to, and never take my health and ability to compete for granted. I am conscious of how blessed I am to have two healthy children, and for this very reason want to help those who don’t. I am honored that I am in a position to run for this charity. The families and children that are struggling really inspire me and will keep me running when my legs begin to tire. I feel motivated by the strength and positive spirit these families demonstrate.

Running in the NYC Marathon has been a dream of mine for years. The 26.2 miles begins in Staten Island and goes through all five boroughs and ends in Central Park.

Please take a moment and look at how Ride to Give has benefited so many families. It would be greatly appreciated if you are able to help me fundraise for this amazing charity. A marathon is a personal struggle for a few hours, but these families endure a marathon daily, struggling to overcome their special challenges. It is truly my honor to represent ‘Team Ride to Give’ and to run the NYC Marathon for these incredible families and inspiring kids.
