Sandra Phillips was selected to march in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade with the Macy's Great American Marching Band (MGAMB). She was chosen to represent Washington state in the Color Guard part of the band (they are the ones who twirl the flags). She competed against other high school students for a spot in the band.

She will travel to NYC on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. She will then meet the others who were chosen to be in the band. They will then have only 2 and a half days of practice before the parade. This is why they chose the best of the best to be in the band.

Sandra is the fifth child in a family of eight children. She is an honor roll student, captain of the color guard at Southridge High School, has first chair for viola in the Southridge high orchestra, and is on the softball team as well. She plays music in her church and does many other volunteer work in the community.

Sandra has always wanted to march in the Thanksgiving parade. As with everything these days it is very expensive. There is a package that she has to pay for that includes her hotel, transportation in NYC, and most of her meals and she has to pay for her flights too. Her parents are not able to help her much with the cost of this trip due to some medical issues in the family and loss of jobs.

Please help Sandra see her dream through to reality.

Any contribution will be greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

Here is her video of her tryout -
