Tazzie’s family surrendered her to the Horry County Animal Care Center in early September. She was immediately placed at the top of the euthanasia list, because her family abandoned her with an old, untreated injury.

We knew that Tazzie’s injury—initially evaluated as a dislocated hip—wouldn’t stop her from living a long and happy life if the funds were available to properly treat her and find her a home, so we pulled her from the shelter just as her time was up.

Tazzie is a lovable Beagle/Dalmatian mix and we guess her age to be between 4-5 years. While we can’t understand why anyone would surrender such a well-behaved girl, we’re committed to getting her life (and hind leg) back on track… but we need your help.

She needs to be evaluated by an orthopedist, but potential options for her treatment so far include: femoral head ostectomy surgery and rehabilitation, amputation, or pain management and treatment on an ‘as needed’ basis. These treatments aren’t cheap, but we believe this sweet girl is worth it… Don’t you?

Any financial support you can offer—be it small or large—will go towards providing Tazzie a second (pain free) chance at a life with a family who won’t leave her behind. And any fundraising goals we surpass will help save the lives of other dogs in need. We (and Tazzie) thank you for your support!
