Fundraiser for K9 Kimbo- Eaton Police Department, Indiana

K9 Kimbo is an awesome Belgian Malinois imported from France via Von Liche Kennels. He and his handler Jason have been on the road a little over a year now.

I have to say I have a special friendship with this team. I have seen Officer Mills pretty much from day one as a new K9 Handler. I have probabaly gotten to know him more in person than any of the handlers we have assisted to date. He is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet.

I have to say K9 Kimbo is amazing too. For a young dog and new handler they have done amazing. Officer Mills even entered Kimbo in the very Elite Von Liche Kennels K9 Olympics last year. I got to watch them in action during the Hard Dog/ Fast Dog competetion last summer. Even though they did not place I was amazed at how well they did. Officer Mills is up for a challenge. Next year he will come home a winner with Kimbo even though the Team is already a winner to me! I have also seen them certify at certification training. AWESOME!

Jason and I have sat through funerals and chatted at trainings and picnics. He always makes time to say hello. That means a lot to me. He is also Super supportive of Vest Indiana K9s.

Now, I get to help him and Kimbo! I am so excited!

Since the team comes from a small department they really need assistance from Organizations such as ours. They come to us requesting a Hot and Pop for their Vehicle. The team has been busy over the last year or so. Removing drugs from the community and assisting other agencies that do not have a K9 available to them.

Jason had a scare in July of last year. He was on a traffic stop and when he was walking to the vehicle he stopped the driver jumped out and starting charging him. He requested back up immediately but the closests back up was 10-15 mins out. A LOT can happen in that time. IF Jason would have been able to utlize the Door Popper portion of the package he would have been able to push a button on his utility belt and release Kimbo to his aide.

We hear about this scenerio over and over. It's getting more and more dangerous for our Law Enforcement Officers.

Let's help not only Kimbo stay safe in the Vehicle on Hot Days but also his Dad, Jason. Let's get them the equipment to potential save their lives.

I am proud of you Jason and what you have accomplished! P-Dog!
