The Hamptons AARP Community Group was formed in the fall of 2013. We offer free monthly meetings with speakers who address issues such as housing, financial, transportation, access to medical care, involvement in community and civic activities and prevention of isolation and depression. The goal is to offer those 40 and over living in the Hamptons area with information and access to resources to improve their quality of life.

We also offer free or low cost dance and movement programs for seniors and those with chronic illness/physical challenges.

Help us reach our goal of becoming a 501C3 organization so we can receive grant money and a donation of a bus so we can transport seniors who no longer drive or can only drive locally. Our own bus would allow us to pick up groups of seniors and bring them to dance socials, theaters, art galleries etc. Even occasional outings can help someone who does not drive to feel part of a group and less lonely.

Regular movement and exercise can help reduce the risk of  a disabling fall and plays a major role in managing chronic conditions.

Dance socials provide an improtant outlet and our clients often tell us that our dance programs are the only physical contact they have with others.

All funding raised through this AARP Community Group stays right here in the Hamptons and provides programs from Montauk to Southampton.
