About a year ago a very dear friend and father of 3 beautiful little girls lost his wife to cancer and is now raising his girls on his own. He tried to move on in life and find happiness again as this is what his late wife wanted him to do even before she had fully passed away. However, a family member has put a halt to that relationship and is now taking him to court to get grandparent rights of his girls. The things is that he has never stopped the girls from seeing this woman and in fact they live across the street from her and have been over to her home recently to have dinner and decorate ornaments for Christmas. When his wife passed away, he relied heavily on this woman and others to get through the grief as most individuals do. It was a normal reaction to the tragedy he and his girls went through. He is a great father, and very honest man. Recently however he received a summons from this woman's lawyer stating she wanted her grandparent rights. Because of safety issues that surround the case. Roger has not allowed the girls any alone time over at this woman's  home. He is doing what any good father would do and protecting his girls from harm. Roger recently had surgery due to a blood clot that was found on his kidney I believe, and lost his job in the process, so attorney fees are quite impossible for him right now due to the fact that he is taking what savings he has built up and making sure they don't lose their home  and utilities and food costs are covered. I was able to get my lawyer to take the case (who normally charges $2500 for a retainer fee) for only $500 as a retainer fee. Afterwards, he will accept payment from him, but his hourly rate is $200 per hour.  The lawyer I found for him is a great man of integrity, honest, hard working, and is great at what he does. I have no doubts this will all work out, but as Roger's friends, maybe we can all pitch in and help him pay for these attorney fees.
