Marsha McWhorter hasn't added a story.
"Our lovely little Kayla Jo is havin a rough time. She stuck her neck out and tried to be an artist full time upon leaving her safety zone up in the norths-not an easy thing to do, but how would you even know how hard it is until you try, am i right? I for one am proud that she tried and i know that she will find her way to being able to do it in better ways as time moves around. Well, tha...t and some extenuated circumstance ended her in some financial woes that lead her down a dark path, to a pawn shop in CO while we were still journeying together (not finding work haha). That day, Kayla was willing to pawn her ukulele just to help take the load off a sisters back, because she couldn't stand herself for becoming a burden to one of her favorite people in the world. We all know that feeling. Thank the lord and the universe and llamas that we have this family to help us out of depressing pits like that. I was so glad that she didn't. Kayla, Steve and I went through some rough times on our quest and we were all feeling pretty jank a lot of the time. Every one of us less than secretly wishes we had our shit together, though we are best at just danglin. Through it all though, Kayla showed a perserverance beyond commendable, she could always call back a smile, sayin, "at least i have my ukulele." Kayla's whole life changed when she found her way to playing her uke one year at Rootwire and every day since then she has become more whole and more herself through the comfort of having it with her. It was bad enough to see her big bassy baritone sadly cracked by friends and tomfoolery. Now, we are in darker days still. Who knows who they are... (dangle gods help them if one of us finds them with Kayla's beautiful instrument and her gorgeous beaded dangle strap connected by a pipe cleaner rose... kind of obviously us duuuude...) but some folks who felt like they needed it stole this cornerstone of our Ukulady's heart, either from the p-fox's car or from Old Dog the night of an open mic".- Gypsy
