Ok so this is a bit of a long shot but a shot I'm willing to take. As some of you may have already read on Facebook , yesterday on the 11th December i bought some food for a homeless dude. His name is Jamie , he's 29 and he's been living on the streets for a year and a half. Jamie has an illness that's taken over his life, stolen his dignity and identity. When Jamie wakes up In the morning after sleeping rough, church yards, children's parks in the play equipment his first thought , and not out of choice , is how can I make enough money to buy heroine , so he sits and begs every day. I made a decision at this point , And that was to help Jamie . I wasn't sure how but I knew he needed it and he deserved a chance. Because everyone deserves a chance ... Right? Jamie is funny, good looking , charismatic and clever. At the moment he's dirty, smells, skinny , chapped skin, swollen hands. He has the potential to do well. We all do! But as we all know in this world to receive any help you need money, most of the time ! So with already the massive response I got off Facebook on donating for Jamie to help him with shelter , food and clothes, I went out to look where he could stay. This is where I got the eye opener . There was no where for him to stay! The only hostel in Milton Keynes wouldn't accept him, even though I had money up front and was prepared to give them my address. They just wouldn't allow him to Stay there! I figured we could all supply Jamie with clean clothes , some food , even some shelter for a couple of nights ,but then what? This is not providing a solution for the problem and again and like most things, we are throwing money into nothing! So how can we productively help Jamie , well I thought about this and made a few phone calls to find out about detox, getting Jamie into a detox centre really is Jamie's only chance . He can't exactly detox himself on the streets, he would become to ill and possibly even die ... Anyway not a nice experience. So the first point forward would be to get him detox and remove the physical addiction . Then would be to work on the mental side. The side that would take him back to heroin . The inability to function normally as his emotional nature doesn't know how to, it all becomes too much to handle and boom powerless once again to the drug that steals you for everything you got ,.. This is an illness, there is a solution but the right steps need to taken to get there. Jamie is willing to take these steps. Jamie is already overwhelmed by my friends response to this and the sparkle is still in his eyes, the sparkle of hope, trust and faith that this may actually happen for him.. So the question you need to ask is .. Do you want Jamie to have a chance? If so then donate , it's that simple .. All money will go towards a solution to getting Jamie well again. I will give you every update and I will tell you exactly what help he's getting. Follow Jamie's story , let unity show there is a community of people that have the power to turn a life around, show compassion and love, get rid of fear and prejudice. Don't let this society steal you of your heart and what you know deep down is right .. . I have enquired about this properly and thoroughly , once Jamie has finished detox he could get help to go to the next stage which would get government funded. Jamie will not just come out of detox and not receive any help after that as we all know that doesn't work. Detox is only the physical withdrawal , then he will be in the best place with the right guidance to move him forward... Thank you so much already for your generous offers and compassion and lovely words , please share this and get Jamie's story far and beyond... Peace and love to you all xx
