September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month and to help raise awareness, The Greater Little Rock Alumnae Chapter of Phi Mu Fraternity together with the Epsilon Omicron collegiate chapter, is hosting a fundraiser in honor of Elijah Talley. One of our very own Epsilon Omicron collegiate members at Southern Arkansas University, Marissa Aranda, has selflessly volunteered to shave her head and donate her hair to help raise awareness for childhood cancer. Our goal is to reach $7500 to donate to Children's Miracle Network and to the American Childhood Cancer Organization of Arkansas. If our goal is met then Marissa will be shaving her head.

Marissa doesn't know Elijah but her outlook on doing this is inspiring. When I asked her what made her decide to go through with this, she responded, " I thought about it and it's just hair. It will grow back. Plus in the grand scheme of things it's nothing compared to what these kids are dealing with everyday."
