Hey all,

In the rural region of Bwindi in South West Uganda, 85% of the population live on less than 1 dollar a day and 50% are illiterate!
Four yeas ago the social enterprise Volunteer Uganda was set up with the mission statement to help bring about permanent, sustainable development through educational infrastructure development, job creation, health promotion and volunteering.

I have been accepted on the 2013 a Limited Resources Teacher Training programme, where UK teachers travel to Bwindi with the aim of supporting the community to develop its own education system. We will be sharing the knowledge gained from our own extensive training here in the UK, enabling Ugandan teachers (and therefore pupils) to benefit from it too for years to come.

It only costs £15 to train a teacher that will develop their skills, in turn helping them to better their education system for the future.

Thanks for reading.
Your support will be much appreciated! :)
