CorgiPals, Inc. hasn't added a story.
"I am requesting aid for a little AKC 9 year old neutered male Corgi by the name of Sweetbrier’s Sydnie. I rescued him from a Craigslist ad. His previous owner was giving him up due to his biting her 4 year old son (I found out later the child had been rough with the dog & teasing him). I have had him about 5 weeks. The previous owner had taken him to her vet for his annual check-up 2 days prior to releasing him to me. They did his boosters, SNAP 4DX test (negative) & issued his heartworm medicine.
Two weeks ago I had to take him to my vet for what we thought at the time was an ear
infection. They gave me amoxicillin, drops for his ears and prednisone for him. His ears cleared up but his appetite dropped off and he became lethargic. I called my vet back the day he was due to take the last amoxicillin concerned but they told me probably it was upsetting his stomach and that was why he was acting that way. They said to give him a few days.
I took him back on April 16. It was discovered he has 2 large ulcerated abscessed lesions in his mouth along with being anemic and being in renal kidney failure. My vet suggested leaving him for 2 days to receive IV fluids in hopes of flushing his kidneys.
I have all of his previous vet records since he was 8 weeks old. I also contacted his vet checking if there had ever been any signs of the kidney disease developing. They assured me that he had always been a healthy dog with no problems what so ever. The only time he came was for his boosters and regular check-ups. He is such a sweet & loving guy & I feel he deserves a chance."
Due to the urgent nature of Sydnie's case, I have already paid the vet for his renal flush in the amount of $228. The Fundrazr widget in the right sidebar will be used to help reimburse CorgiPals for this cost, plus the 5% fee that Fundrazr charges.
Sydnie is a sweet, loving boy that deserves all of the love he's getting in his new home. Let's help Vickie get Sydnie well again so they can truly enjoy each other for many years to come! Please share his story with your family and friends, and donate if you can!
