Please read story for a very sad update !!!
Alfie Williams , son of
Gareth and Sam Williams , has just been diagnosed with one of the
rarest types of cancer in children , Rhabdomyosarcoma > Muscle
cancer . Less than 60 kids in the UK get diagnosed each year . Alfie
is at a Stage 4 , the most advanced type !!! They found one large
tumor in his tummy and several smaller Tumor s . Chemotherapy and
Radiotherapy will start on tuesday the 13th of November , in the hope
to shrink the tumor within the next 18 weeks in order to make a life
saving operation .
Many of you will know Gaz and his family
through serving in the Royal Artillery with him where he was based in
Germany for many years and is currently based in Larkhill .
Update !!! Sad news .
As Alfie has undergone a total of 18 months of treatment the prognosis is that the cancer is now terminal . As of yet we dont know how long he has left with us . His family have made the decision to use chemo to try and prolong his life . Right now Alfie is a very poorly little boy and although he has fought through the past year and a half with a smile on his face , it is now starting to fade away . He is on morphine to keep the pain bearable and although he has perked up , it still leaves him exhausted so he will have 2 to 3 hours sleep every afternoon . We are hoping that by using chemo it will better the quality of his life enough to give him more happy days to spend with his family before he will have to say his final good byes :((((((( Can i please ask everyone once again to share share share the fundraizr . Alfie has one last big final wish and would like to see the Eiffel tower and his family is hoping to take him on as many fun trips out as possible xxxxx
Ps. As this fundraiser was first created in November 2012 the first lot of donations was spend on family trips out , private tutoring , a complete make over of his bedroom etc . However since my last update a few days ago we have raised £1190 which is going towards the trip to the Eifeltower and days out for the family xxx If you want to keep updated please visit our group called " Help Alfie and his family to battle cancer " on facebook xxx
