Cael was 7 months old when he was diagnosed with Severe Combined Immune Deficiency (SCID). It is a rare, life-threatening condition in which he was born without the T cells in his immune system which are required for fighting infection. Cael has been in hospital for nearly two months now with an infection in his lungs, and he will need a bone marrow transplant as soon as he sufficiently recovers from his current illness. We are doing a 5 mile Family Walk through Lee Valley Park on Sunday, 21 October to raise funds to relieve some of the financial burden on Cael and his family during their lengthy hospital stay and recovery period. If you would like to know more about Cael and his fight against SCID, please feel free to view Cael's blog (as written by his Mum) at http://www.caelslife.blogspot.co.uk/ or his FaceBook page http://www.facebook.com/CaelsLife
