Ushirika School, located in the heart of Kibera, one of Africa’s largest slums, serves more than 800 vulnerable children. For many, the meals they receive at school are the only food they’ll eat all day. Limited funding and high poverty levels mean the school struggles to provide the consistent, nourishing meals these children need to learn and grow.
Last year, we proved change is possible.
Thanks to the generosity of donors and our partner One
Girl Can, we expanded the food program to include meat once
a week, as well as fresh fruit and more vegetables. The results were clear:
