This campaign is dedicated to restoring and protecting the late Vichelle Estell’s beloved home in Bellville, Texas—a place that nurtured not just a family, but a community.

For years, this house was more than shelter. It was a sanctuary.
Vichelle was a Girl Scout leader, a caterer, and a mother to five brilliant children—and her home reflected that generosity. It hosted neighborhood gatherings, home-cooked meals, Girl Scout cookie operations, youth sleepovers, and last-minute refuge for those who needed a place to land. She fed the local Boys & Girls Club, supported local events, and showed young people what care looked like—one plate, one open door, one prayer at a time.

Now, Estellar Legacies is working to re-secure this home and transform it into a foundation for the future—a living archive of Southern Black womanhood, culinary memory, and collective possibility.

This home will serve as:

• A gathering space for healing, rest, and story-sharing

• A culinary and cultural hub to preserve ancestral foodways and host community events

• A launchpad for our broader vision: reclaiming Black-owned land across the South for liberation-rooted projects

We’re working to bring this house back under our care. Not just to preserve the walls—but to plant something in the soil that can’t be sold off.

This campaign is about re-rooting.
Taking what Vichelle built and letting it grow into a gathering place again—for rest, storytelling, creative work, and land-based memory.
It’s the first step toward a longer vision. A place for Estellar Legacies to begin again, on land that already knows us.
