With its dings, dents and scratches it’s not the most glamourous piece of equipment. But for our crews, it’s among the most important.
These helmets don’t just protect our heads, hearing and vision as we fight for a patient’s life; they allow our medical crews to communicate with each other inside the helicopter while we’re out on a life-saving mission. For our pilots, they house the night vision goggles which help us travel safely to a call in the dark of night.
Like any piece of equipment, our helmets need to be replaced and updated every few years. And that’s where we need help from allies like you.
We invite you to join STARS Flight Club, our new crowdfunding campaign with a goal of raising $26,000 to buy 20 new helmets.
This is a Flight Club you can talk about. Donate and then tell all your friends, family and coworkers about how good it feels to help buy a helmet – and help save a life.
As a member of the STARS Flight Club, you’ll get access to some pretty awesome gear of your own, from our $10, $25 and $50 membership rewards to more personalized rewards from our flight crew. Or, if a reward doesn’t interest you, you can still help by simply making a donation towards new helmets.
By helping to fund our 20 new helmets you’ll not only be part of the STARS Flight Club, you’ll be helping our crews fulfill our promise to provide the best emergency transport care possible to patients across Western Canada.
