My dog King Casey is a nine year old australian shepard, border collie, queensland heeler mix. He was my christmas present when I was just seven years old, and is still my best friend. Three weeks ago he was hit by a large truck while on a walk with my family. The truck that hit him stoped, looked at the situation and our dog that it just hit, and proceeded to drive away from the incident. Casey's injuries range from torn ligaments and damaged nerve endings to misplaced and jumbled bone structure, and a completely dislocated hip. Due to the truck not breaking his bones but instead moving their position in his leg, leaving him unable to walk and his leg unable to heal on its own. We were just informed by our vet that Casey will need two seperate sugeries costing several thousand dollars each, if we ever want him to be able to heal and walk again. After research, we decided to go with animal surgical group. Dr. Sikes and his team are great! However, his office doesn't take payments. They require half the cost up front to start surgery and remaining balance upon pickup of pet. Casey just had his first surgery two days ago, reinserting his hip, and still neeeds another urgent surgery to heal and insert a plate into his back left leg. We've already spent several thousand dollars in medical bills for Casey the last three weeks, we've scheduled his second surgery but are lacking funds. We've been paying for Casey's medical expenses with money from my college fund, as we are out of other resources. So i've decided to take it apon myself to reach out and ask for help from the community or anyone in the assistance of the finances of Casey's operations to help save not only my lifelong friend and pet, but also the future of my education. So during this holiday season my family and I are asking for the gift of life for my best friend King Casey. Thank you in advance for any and all contributions and may everyone have a safe and happy holiday!
