Very brief run-down;

I couldn't be more excited and scared about this impending move. I don't mean to sound cliche, but I feel truly blessed. And if you believe in me and what I do... and wish to contribute, every little bit is very much appreciated and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

A bit of my story;

'Lucky' is a funny term. I told someone recently about my getting into this school and packing my bags to head to Los Angeles, and they responded with; 'You're so lucky to be given this opportunity'.

I smiled and said 'Yes, I am', and then thought about all those times I ate microwaved scrambled eggs and noodles while going through my first year in Sydney. Being independent for the first time and too stubborn to ask for help. I thought about all the personal trials that have stumbled my way these past 5 years and how I got through them - virtually unscathed.

And I smiled bigger.

Because then I remembered all the people in my life who have been there for me, and bailed me out when I needed it along the way even when I didn't ask for it (thanks Mum and Dad). I AM lucky. Being lucky has nothing to do with my career, though... it is to do with the people in my life who have supported and encouraged me so much that I feel comfortable knowing I can move to the other side of the world for the thing I love, and they'll be rooting for me. There are people who genuinely want my success, and will see how hard I work, and tell me they are proud of me. And that makes all the fear worth it. That knot in my stomach that says - 'Don't move away from this - you're happy here surrounded by loved ones'... eases every time a friend hugs me and tells me to go for it.

You guys... that's kind of what drives me to keep pushing and driving towards the thing I want most in life. I didn't mean to get sappy on you all... or emotional... *wipes teary face*

So thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. And I hope one day, I can thank you on a bigger podium.

All the love in the world,

Lucy.
