I have ADHD it doesn't have Me!

It’s normal for children to occasionally forget their homework, daydream during class, act without thinking, put their shoes on the wrong feet, or get fidgety at the dinner table. But inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity are also signs of attention deficit disorder (ADD/ADHD), which can affect your child’s ability to learn and get along with others. The first step to addressing the problem is to recognize the signs and symptoms.

My daughter Daylah Markell Hadley was diagnosed with ADHD and Emotional Compulsive Disorder in 2011. I was devastated I felt like a parents that have deal with cancer and/or other far more worst elements with their children. I know they would say Alicia this don't come close to what I have been through. I understand that now but at the time I was broken because where I am from we don’t believe in this type of disease. We believe if you discipline your child they will be just fine but that’s not always the answer or the case sometime deeper issues lie within your child.

I have watch a smart, respectful, and loving child struggle with this. She is doing better now that’s why we have team together with her school and special education. Now as mother and daughter we want to bring this issue to the light. We want to let you know that you're not alone and also give you the child standpoint on this matter. She will be releasing her first book “I have ADHD it doesn't have Me!” January 1, 2015. The walk will take place the weekend of her birthday April 29, 2015. The walk date is May 2, 2015. We would love to have you walk with us but if you can't make it donations are welcomed. Registration information will be posted next week. Thank you for supporting our team.
