Hello, my name is Chris and I have an aunt and cousin that are in dire need of assistance and need to get back on their feet and need to reclaim their lives. Remaining strong throughout the tough times, she has rolled with the punches and tried to give herself and her children a good life while suffering from epilepsy and Tonic–clonic seizures. She thankfully has not had a seizure in years, thank God.

But in March of 2009, she sustained a workplace injury that has put her life situation in a pretty bad place. It was a slip-and-fall type accident and my aunt sustained a terrible injury that caused her to have three herniated discs, degenerative spinal disease, and nerve damage.

My aunt is lucky to be even be able to walk according to doctors. I remember when she had to use a cane to get around and she could barely even function or get around. Her daughter and most of the family had to help her out in her tough times and it breaks my heart to see her in such a bad place in her life. When I went to the doctor with her to discuss surgery, it was pretty much off the table as she could end up in a worse predicament with it.

So it has left her with only being able to take pain medication that is destroying her body and recently, destroying her teeth. The sad truth is that in her situation, she has not been able to get a job as a waitress due to her teeth, which have been rotting due to the pain medication. She has filed for disability twice and been turned down each time. My aunt has no income besides the small amount of money that she receives in child support. She cannot afford to get her teeth fixed, she cannot get a job in her field due to the fact that her teeth are posing a problem. She lost everything, her job, her material items, everything.

Another problem is that she is living with my older cousin and his wife and cannot afford to get herself a place on the tiny amount of money she receives every month in child support. If it were not for my cousin, she would be living in her car with my younger cousin. That's something that I do not want to happen at all.

I want her to be able to go and get her teeth fixed so that she's able to get a job and for her to be able to have her own place to live away from my cousin, his wife, and their daughter.

If I could provide these things for my aunt myself, I would do it, but unfortunately, I cannot. That is why I need your help. Just think about this: if this happened to you, or your mother, or sister, or aunt, wouldn't you want someone to help them out? I want my aunt and teenaged cousin to get back on their feet and to reclaim their lives. I want my aunt to be able to smile without being embarassed due to the fact that she was injured at work and that the medication she's on has ruined her teeth. But I need your help. If you can find it in your heart to give anything, it would be greatly appreciated. I have tried to get her a grant for her teeth and tried to find affordable safe housing for her and my cousin, but with no luck.

The picture I have attached is my aunt before she had gotten injured and when her teeth weren't as damaged as they are now.

The dental surgery that my aunt Tanya will need wil be quite expensive as well as finding a place to move to that she can pay money in advance so that her and her daughter won't have to worry about making a monthly rent payment. They will need to remove what's left of her teeth, and give her a new set of teeth. I'm guessing dentures of some kind.

Thank you for reading this and I appreciate any and all help big or small. Even if it's a dollar, anything to help out will be nice. I just want to help someone that can't really help themselves.

P.S. this is going to be a surprise for her as she doesn't know that I am doing this for her.
