My name is Ariana Campbell. I am six years old. I was born to a teenage parent who is a single mother. I am being raised in the Austin community, in the 37th ward district. I am not the average child of a teen parent and my interests go beyond my neighborhood. My interest includes dancing, acting, modeling along with other creative activities.
I was offered an opportunity to showcase my talent and learn about the entertainment industry from experts at the International Modeling and Talent Association New York, New York 2013 Convention. I want to attend the convention to build a personal and professional portfolio. I expect to gain confidence, self-determination, public speaking and other transferable skills as a result of attending the IMTA convention. At the age 6, I take my acting, dancing, and modeling seriously to show the world that I can achieve the extraordinary. When people look at me, I do not want them to look at me as a statistic, but as a little girl who is committed to achieving her goals.
I was one of the 34 children picked to attend the convention out of 137 people of all ages. I presented a monologue about a child speaking to her mom and dad about eating their grown-up cereal and staying out of my kids’ cheerios! Before, I attend the convention, I need your help.
