Buster is a rescued Boston Terrier/Australian Cattle Dog mix. He is very loyal and always by our side. Buster is happiest chasing a ball, frisbee, or stick (especially a stick!), and could do it all day long. He is a great family dog and we love him dearly.

In the past, we noticed Buster not putting weight on his back legs, especially after exercise, so we gave him rest and it seemed to get better. Lately however, he has not been able to put weight on both of his back legs, so we took him to the vet. Our local vet told us he could have a problem with his knees or hips, and that he would need to be sedated for an x-ray. We decided to take him for a second opinion, and right away the second vet felt a torn ACL in both knees. No wonder he's in pain. The vet recommends Lateral fabellotibial suture surgery on both knees.

"An ACL injury is extremely painful and affected dogs experience pain while simply walking. A tear or rupture leads to joint swelling, pain and instability in the knee joint. If left untreated it will cause lameness in the affected rear leg and, ultimately, chronic irreversible degenerative joint changes. Damage to the ACL is a major cause of progressive osteoarthritis in the knee joint of dogs. - See more at: http://www.dogheirs.com/dogheirs/posts/2309-anterior-cruciate-ligament-acl-injuries-in-dogs-symptoms-and-diagnosis#sthash.CBC4Pdo6.dpuf"

We are trying to get him into surgery right away. Each knee will be $2200, not including office visits, sedation, etc. Anything you can do to help will mean the world to us. We want to get Buster off his feet, and back on them again as soon as possible. He will have to be immobilzed for two weeks and then have limited activity for another 3 months. He will be getting a lot of love and special care. Thank you so much for your consideration.
