We are a non profit wildlife rehabilitation organization that rescues, rehabilitates, and releases sick, injured, or orphaned wildlife back into the wild. All hours of the day and night we receive phone calls about wildlife animals in need. During the baby seasons is our most critical and busiest time of year. We help thousands of species each year. Right now we fund the building materials for enclosures, proper diet(our owl eats nine dollars worth of food a day and she is just one of hundreds in our care), medication, vetrinary visits, and fuel costs to get these animals where they need to go out of our own pockets. We do have small donations from our facebook followers that help. The reason that we are trying to raise a large sum of money is to fund the following: Food, medication, medical supplies, enclosure building materials, a birds of prey rehabilitation flight cage, and a Great Horned Owl enclosure. The Owl that we now have is non-releasable due to two of her toes that had to be amputated after she was caught in a steel trap. We also travel all over South Mississippi giving educational programs at local schools, girl scout troops, boy scout troops, library's, and home school groups etc. Currently, we are doing this out of our home (our kitchen is our critical care room). Our dream is to one day have a wildlife center with a full emergency veterinary clinic, an intake area, a rehabilitation area, a emergency oil spill animal cleaning wing, and an educational classroom. There are countless people that do not know what to do when they find a injured species of wildlife so we do our best to educate as we rehabilitate. If you are curious about what we do, we have a facebook page: www.facebook.com/wildatheartrescue. Our website is under construction and will be available soon: www.wildatheartrescue.org. Thank you for your consideration.
