The Fellowship Hall at the White Pine Community United Methodist Church in White Pine, Michigan looks more like a waterpark than a gathering place. It is imperative that we raise $70,000 immediately to raise a new roof. The current roof is beyond repair and the water is beginning to enter the sanctuary. This little church has a huge impact in the community and we need your help!

You may or may not know of the White Pine Community United Methodist Church in White Pine, Michigan. This is a very special little church, in a tiny town that practices Open Hearts, Open Minds and Open Doors in such a way that it is a HUGE presence in the community. It was built and paid for in 1954 by the hard work of the local women who rose early each and every morning to prepare pasties. They would bake the pasties in the ovens of houses in the neighborhood and have them delivered to the White Pine Copper Mine by noon for the miner’s lunch.

The mine closed over a decade ago and more than 3,300 people lost their jobs. Many moved away from the area, but those that could stayed. The area industry now consists of primarily tourism related businesses in this Five-Star Wilderness. This, however, has not diminished the work of the church. Today, the White Pine Community UMC ministries include: Christian Kids’ Club, Youth Group, Good Neighbor Fund, Worship on the Mountain (an outreach to visitors to the area), Annual Community Christmas Dinner, Annual Chili Cook-Off, Annual Christmas Drama, Annual Easter Drama, Jail Ministry, Adult Bible Study and Women’s Bible Study just to name a few. The Church is also diligent in its global ministry outreach.

We love to watch God at work in the lives of so many!
