Since 2015, WTSQ 88.1 FM has been Charleston’s home for independent, community radio - powered entirely by the people who listen. From alternative and indie rock to funk, hip-hop, folk, and beyond, our volunteer DJs keep the airwaves fresh, unpredictable, and deeply local. Over the past year, we’ve continued to grow by expanding CharlesTunes and our community Podcast Studio, creating more opportunities for local and regional artists to be heard - all because of listener support.
Now, we’re inviting you to help keep it going.
Our 2026 Spring Fund Drive runs Friday, April 10th through Friday, April 17th, with a goal of raising the $45,000 it takes each year to keep WTSQ on the air 24/7. The overwhelming majority of our operating costs are covered by listeners like you, and every contribution (big or small) directly fuels Charleston’s radio station.
This year’s fund drive design comes from Camp NeverNice, featuring a vibrant, hand-crafted composition: a warped cassette reading The Status Quo alongside a classic WTSQ tape stamped with 88.1 FM. A nod to analog culture and creative mixes, where music is shared, genres blended, and communites are built ❤️
