Hello from the San Jose Film Collective!

Established in 2021, the San Jose Film Collective is a 100% volunteer and POC-led organization dedicated to empowering diverse filmmakers in the Bay Area. Through our vibrant networking events, workshops, and showcases, we provide a unique platform for creatives to connect, learn, and celebrate their work. We are committed to amplifying underrepresented voices in the film industry, ensuring that diversity and inclusivity are at the core of our mission. By offering low-cost or free events, we democratize access to resources, fostering a supportive and collaborative community for filmmakers of all backgrounds.

Our Mission: 

• Provide Accessible Resources and Connections: We aim to offer filmmakers free and low-cost resources, connections, and opportunities to enhance their craft, including future plans to provide online resources for learning, networking, finding grants, and hiring talent.

• Curate Inclusive Events: We organize free to low-cost events like panel discussions, mixers, showcases, and workshops, ensuring that filmmakers of all backgrounds and experience levels have access to valuable industry insights and networking opportunities.

• Inspire Creative Pursuits: Our mission is to inspire filmmakers to take bold steps in their creative journeys by showcasing diverse work, fostering a collaborative environment, and encouraging filmmakers at every level to pursue their own projects.
