THE RACE TO BRIDGE THE GAP

LIABILITY RELEASE FORM

EACH PARTICIPANT MUST CAREFULLY REVIEW THE FOLLOWING TO BE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE RACE TO BRIDGE THE GAP.

If a Participant is under the age of 19, this form is not applicable, and We Are Young Association will provide a separate form to be filled out by a parent or guardian on behalf of the Participant.

In consideration of being permitted by We Are Young (“WAY”) to participate in The Race to Bridge the Gap (the “Race”) and related events and activities, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. Registration Fee
   
   1. I understand and agree to pay a $65.00 registration fee. If I am a participant on a corporate team that has paid the required corporate fee, I understand that the $65.00 registration fee is waived.
   2. The corporate registration fee is $250.00. If a company chooses to identify itself as a corporate team, that company is responsible for such corporate registration fee.
2. Fundraising Goal
   1. I agree and acknowledge that my team is committed to raising at least $500.00 in pledges on or before August 24, 2019.
3. Consent to Use Image
   
   1. I understand and agree that by participating in the Race my image or voice may be included in photographs, film footage, audio footage and other such recordings taken by WAY, their agents, volunteers, employees, or third parties (“Materials”). I hereby grant WAY an unlimited right to reproduce, use, exhibit, display, create derivative works from, and distribute the Materials in any manner or via any media as WAY may choose. I acknowledge that I have no rights in the Materials and I will not have a right to inspect or approve any Materials. I agree that I will not make a claim for any reason to WAY, its licensees or assigns for remuneration in connection with any Materials.
   2. I acknowledge that I am free to enter into this Release and to have my image or voice used in the manner contemplated by this irrevocable Release.
4. Assumption of Risks
   1. I have received and read the information package provided by WAY and understand certain risks are inherent in participation in the Race. These risks may include, but are not limited to, sprains, broken bones, cuts, bruises, temporary or permanent disability, mental or emotional trauma, adverse weather conditions, dehydration, sunburns, and other dangers which may or may not be reasonably foreseeable.
   2. I understand my participation in the Race is voluntary and at my own risk. I fully understand the scope of the activities and the potential risks involved in the Race. I agree to assume such risks.
5. Release
   1. I hereby, on my own behalf and on behalf of my heirs, executors and administrators, release and forever discharge WAY, their officers, agents, employees, sponsors, and volunteers from any and all claims, liabilities, or causes of action resulting from my involvement in the Race including all liability for damage to personal property, personal injury or loss arising out of or related to my participation in the Race, whether caused by negligence, statutory duty of care and/or any breach arising under Occupiers' Liability Act, SNS 1996, c 27 to the fullest extent permitted by law.

1. General
   1. I am 19 years old or older. If I am not at least 19 years old, I understand I am still able to participate in the Race, but my parent or guardian is required to sign a different form on my behalf which will be provided by WAY.
   2. This Release will continue to have effect after my participation in the Race.
   3. This Release represents my full understanding of the subject matter contained herein and supersedes all prior agreements or communications with WAY.
   4. WAY is not responsible for the acts or omissions of third parties.
   5. This Release shall be governed and construed under the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and the laws of Canada as applicable.
   6. I have read this entire Release. I fully understand this Release. I agree to be bound by this Release.
