Kathleen White (1960-2014) shared a rare gift that combined substance, talent, and personal beauty with great generosity of spirit.

Many challenges remain in the care of her substantial artistic contributions; many of which have never left her studio. Although recognition certainly eluded her in life, her work and her artistic integrity over three decades has left an enduring mark on a vast community of artists, writers, performers, activists.

Here is an article by Gary Indiana published February 2015 in ARTnews.

Through our not for profit, alLuPiNiT, NYC, and in keeping with its mission of bringing forth deserving art and writing from the fringes, we need your help to raise funds for the care of Kathleen's work and her vibrant legacy.

Her paintings, drawings, writings, recordings, photography, journals, book arts, works in experimental media, clothing, and a significant archive that includes many fragile and ephemeral works need cuntinued attention.

We seek your help to cover the ongoing cost of her studio rent, utilities, basic staff, estate planning, legal expenses, website maintenence, storage, materials costs, insurance, transportation expenses. Creating an inventory, archiving photos, letters, books, notes, clothing and documents; and the physical care of the work, packing, storage, etc.

We need funding to organize her estate. This is a delicate, time consuming task.

Kathleen was a loving partner and collaborator. With slight means and great love we achieved an outpour of individual and combined works that continue to speak to the dialogue of our union and to our beloved community.

I lay next to Kathleen when she passed quietly at 10:02 am on September 2, 2014, at our East Village home. I thank dear friends and family that have helped during this time and also in the struggle during the year of her illness.

Thank you for being part of Kathleen’s living legacy.
