So I went out with my friends on the weekend in Oxford and came across a homeless man called Joe, who started talking to me. Joe was a smart, friendly young man; no older than 26... He told me how he became homeless and I nearly burst into tears. He has a child and had a wife who took all his assets and threw him out. He told me that he had a job but was no longer allowed to work as he wasn't able to have a shower and look smart for work. He told me he'd thought about suicide and how the streets had been bad to him. He'd be urinated on, beaten up, been hospitalised, showed me his missing teeth & was in tears talking to me. You could tell that he was a proud man who didn't want to be seen crying in front of me. Anyway, I took his number and told him not to worry and that I would help him get back on his feet... We all have or will need a helping hand one day... I have managed to get him a job and a place to stay. He needs £30 for something called an SCSC Card; a qualification for motorway maintenance work and £50 for his uniform... He will also need £150 for rent. Meaning he needs £230 to get him back on his feet. That's why any donation even a pound will be an amazing contribution to help my homeless friend Joe. I'm a student so it is very tough for me financially but for the sake of humanity we should help one another even if we are also in need. Please donate even if it's one pound it will make a difference! :)) thank you so much, on behalf of me and Joe :)
