Krystal Reynolds hasn't added a story.
Hey there,
As most of you know my name is Krystal Reynolds, and I am a 28 year
old from the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria.
My story begins on the 31st of January 2002, when I was at school
studying my VCE. I was studying all of my prerequisites to go to James
Cook University to study Marine Biology. But my dreams got crushed on
this day.
I was in my Maths Methods class and I started to get an earache, then
my sight went and I horribly started to drool. My teacher at the time
asked if I wanted to go to the sick bay and I said yes. I stood up and
fell back down straight away. The teacher asked everyone to leave the
classroom and called an ambulance. I was taken to Frankston hospital.
Because I was so young the doctors did not think that it could of
been a stroke or a TIA. They did some tests and sent me home and said
I had to go to my GP in the morning.
Unfortunately I did not make it till the morning, at about 2am I had
my major stroke and I could not walk, talk or do anything for myself.
I stayed strong and positive that I was going to be able to do
everything again but my doctor's weren't so convinced. They told me
that I probably should not get my hopes up and I probably will never
move my arm again.
I was an inpatient at Frankston Rehabilitation Center for 4 months
and I am still an outpatient there now 12 years on. I learnt to walk
again within 4 months and talk again within 3 months. But I still have
problems with my right side and arm in particular.
I have finally now been given a glimmer of hope by Dr Tobinick who
believes that he quite possibly may be able to fix this condition.
This new treatment in the USA is incredible, and it could change my
life!! That's amazing I hear you say? WELL as with everything that is
good with the world, it comes at a price.
So, this is where you guys come in! I'll be organising fundraising
events in the future to help with raising money and am currently
taking donations from any of the kind souls reading this who would
like to help me and give me a better future.
Anyone wishing to donate may do so by depositing to the following or
