So, I get a call today from my landlord (who takes care of my dog during my long work days) who says that Rex hurt himself badly and he limping.  No matter what she does, she can't get him to stop whining and licking his front leg.  (Rewind a couple years back to Rex escaping and getting hurt by a passing car.  His front leg was broken in many places.  Being that he is so active we couldn't get it to heal properly and surgery was required.  I opted NOT to have the intramedullary rod and pins inserted and sedate him on  a daily basis until his leg was healed properly.)  Well, today he had the genius idea of trying to "snake wiggle" his way under the security gate where I live and he got himself stuck.  Tying to push his way back out he managed to break his leg again.  Given his age, stubborn nature, and love of fun activities (such as escaping/rough play with larger dogs) my Vet is strongly recommending  a rod and three pins be inserted to prevent this from happening again.  As he is growing older the rod and pins are going to give his bone the strength to stay in one piece and support his activities.  You have to understand this little guy's personality and how tough he is.  The Vet assured me if I don't get this surgery done right away, he will continuously have problems and be in pain.  This couldn't come at a worse time.  Financially, this is going to be inpossible for me to do with out help.  I'm asking everyone on my FB FRIENDS list to donate just a few dollars...even $1 would help.  The Vet is doing the surgery for next to nothing, it's the medicine and after care that is going to cost the most.  I just finished paying off the last surgery from his incident with the car and I just can't do it again right now.  So I'm swallowing my pride and asking for a little generosity from friends.  I know times are tough for everyone right now and I'm not EXPECTING anything, but whatever help I can get is going to seriously help right now.  One of the techs suggested this method so I'm giving it a shot.  Anything I could do in return, will be done.  If you can't help with $1, then say a prayer.  THanks guys =)
