Dear Friends,

The Wildlife Committee, a subcommittee of the Conservation Committee, is raising funds to support our continued efforts to educate residents and visitors about the importance of living in harmony with our wildlife in the North Georgia Mountains.

Unfortunately, a recent incident led to a mother bear and her three cubs being trapped and eventually being euthanized due to nuisance reports. We are hoping to intervene and decease these types of incidences with the creation of The Black Bear Project.

The Black Bear Project Is Rising to The Challenge:
We have mapped out a conservation strategy to meet the challenge.

We’re rallying grassroots support for more humane traps, a bronze statue to create awareness and continued educational intervention. Our programs are helping us to identify problem areas and provide critical information and intercessions. And we’re using the Web to activate a new generation of wildlife-lovers who will carry on our conservation work. Underlying these strategies are timeless values: a love of wildlife and nature; a belief in the power of our communities; and an unshakeable faith that where wildlife thrives, people prosper.

You can help The Black Bear Project protect the wildlife in the North Georgia Mountains by making a generous donation.
