Delightfully Deviant hasn't added a story.
He grew in my heart and my life to be the best BIG bundle of bunny to happen to me. He drastically changed me, my life and the people I came into contact with.
From the days spent getting to know each other, to the fact that the back window in my very first car was HIS perch, the frequent trips to Downtown Disney in his baby carrier, to Renfaire, to lazy trips to the Orange County Mall & Orange County Goth Meet-ups. Yes, I snuck him into a college class, (or two, four, ten...)
He was the only family to be at my wedding ceremony. The judge was more than willing to let my little one come into the court house so he calmly studied us both, held in his new Dads arms through the whole ceremony and is in our wedding photo to prove it.
The move to live with my husband in San Diego, lying on the grass in Balboa Park, being the Spokes-bun for San Diego House Rabbit Society, walks on the beach, Trips to the Mall Downtown, "helping" at Gothic Volunteer Alliance outings, He had his "special" spot in the Hearses Casket bay.
The fear of losing him when moving to Japan and being saved by being transferred to Washington instead. The long 3 day trip to Washington he road right behind me hopping over the seat to check on me then beck into the casket bay. Exploring Deception Pass together, Having to buy that Pumpkin he took a bite out of at Dugualla Bay Farms a couple years ago. The fun in the snow for his first time last year. His love of Oak Harbors Downtown and grassy beachfront.
The last 3 months he slowly got worse. He lost the ability to walk, he had to be in a wheelchair. He was on 6 different medications. the pills, the shots, the constant vet visits. He grew tired. He decided it was time to go. I held him in my arms and gave him water in the morning. By 5pm 12/9/2012 he died.
He was my 17lb, black dynamite, constant companion.
5 years, 11 months, and 20 days later he passed on.
He may be gone. And it HURTS. But I will never forget Lucifer and I wouldn't change any of the 2182 days Lucifer and I shared for the world.
When making Lucifer arrangements, I Specifically wanted to keep his skull. I had his skull removed by Whidbey Island Taxidermy and now have it on my desk for all time. I occasionally wear him on a hat to honor and remember him always.
The rest of his body has been in deep freeze waiting for cremation. Since his death, I have made payments toward his cremation totaling $250. I currently still owe $100 and I can't justify putting money made from my business toward funeral arrangements because I need to make sure I use that money to purchase the supplies to make those orders.
Since December Lucifer has been in my friends freezer and I just can't seem to stretch our personal budget to cover his cremation.
I hate asking friends and family for money, but I know some of you have asked if you could help.
Any help you could give in helping us reach our goal would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
