About the 2025 Continent 2 Continent 4 Cancer Ride
The 2025 Continent 2 Continent 4 Cancer (C2C4C) ride in Japan organised by Bristol Myers Squibb will feature 60 of the company's employees from seven nations cycling from 7-21 October in support of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and selected members in Asia Pacific to raise funds with the aim of accelerating the fight against cancer and facilitating a better life for cancer patients.
The inaugural C2C4C ride was held twelve years ago in the United States as Coast 2 Coast 4 Cancer. Riders in Europe joined the effort in 2016 for the Country 2 Country 4 Cancer, Japan in 2021 and Latin America in 2022 as the Continent 2 Continent 4 Cancer.
For the fifth year, the 2025 edition of the Continent 2 Continent 4 Cancer (C2C4C) ride will feature 60 Bristol Myers Squibb employees riding nearly 1,800 kilometers from 7-21 October.
The 15-day event involves five teams each cycling a three-day segment. Since 2021, more than USD 550,000 has been donated to charitable organizations in Asia Pacific via the C2C4C ride.
In this 2025 edition, five teams will feature riders participating from seven countries including Australia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore, and the United States. The mission of C2C4C is to raise awareness for cancer research and Asia Pacific cancer organisations who are members of the UICC.
Raising Funds for Bowel Cancer Australia
According to the WHO, Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide, accounting for nearly 10 million deaths in 2020. This is why the team are riding in support of Bowel Cancer Australia in its mission: championing what matters most to people impacted by bowel cancer and empowering everyone affected to live their best life. "We are committed to challenging perceptions, overcoming barriers, and creating meaningful change across the care continuum through advocacy, awareness, and integrated research to improve access to personalised treatments and patient-centred care."
Who Are the Riders
The participants are novice riders, who have committed themselves to 5 months of intensive training to complete their portion of the ride. Some are cancer survivors, others have witnessed the devastating impact of cancer on friends and family. Their kilometers will help raise funds to fight against cancer by supporting Bowel Cancer Australia , a member of the Union for International Cancer Control.
