Welcome to the Drumming for Scouts page!
In celebration of Tiffany Drum's 55th birthday on May 10th we are raising $5.5K for the Scouting Program in Rochester. Will you help us reach our goal?
We have three team members....Tiffany, Eliza and Linda! Here are our stories!
Tiffany Drum is a proud mom of two kiddos - Eagle Scout Sean and almost-Star rank scout Eliza. She is grateful to husband Eric for his love of Scouting, and for being the Asst. Scoutmaster of Scouts BSA girl Troop 425 in Webster where she serves as Scoutmaster. Is her life 24/7 scouting? Well.....kinda! She works for the Boy Scouts of America as EA to Scout Executive Stephen Hoitt. Whew! What else? She loves the outdoors, so she and her family camp, canoe, hike and garden together all the time. Tiffany is also a 4H leader with the Wayne County 4-H program, loves her family and friends, supports and collects art work from local artists, and listens to lots of audio books. She feels blessed that she can share her love of the outdoors with young people, and pass on experiences and skills for continued stewardship of our world.
Eliza Drum is a 15 year old who is working towards Eagle Scout rank in Troop 425 in Webster. She's in 10th grader at Thomas HS, and has been active in the Wayne County 4-H for eight years. She has a group of bestie friends, most who she's known since Kindergarten! She loves being outdoors, camping, paddle boarding, and skiing. She feels that being in two great youth programs like Scouts BSA and 4-H is helping her prepare for many things in life, including being comfortable with public speaking and how to be an important part of a team. This year she participated in the ACE Program (Architects, Construction, Engineering), and plans to shadow with Interior Design departments at two local companies this Spring. She adores her family, cat Ginger and chickens, and being a Daddy's girl. She can't wait to cheer her mom on as they rappel down the Kodak building!
Linda Bowen is the newest member of Drumming for Scouts! Linda is a teacher in the Webster CSD, and owns the Bowen Family Farm in Webster, NY with her husband Chris. Together they are raising four kiddos - Eagle Scout Will and 1st Class Rank Jake among them! - along with some sheep, rabbits, chickens, goats, and lots of fruits and veggies. The Bowen Family Farm provides youth with hands-on farming and animal science experiences, and hosts meetings and projects for the County Line Club from Wayne County 4-H. Linda loves the outdoors and has been an adult leader in the Scouting Program for many years, and enjoys sailing, skiing, camping and the smell of fresh cut hay. She can't wait to rappel with her buddy Tiffany!
Returning for its 13th year on the only Friday the Thirteenth in 2022, 21 Stories for Scouts offers you the opportunity to overcome your fear of Friday the 13th on Friday, May 13th! It's safe. It's fun. And, did we say it's Thrilling! In fact, it's doubly thrilling as you get an amazing experience and, at the same time, support the life-changing experiences that thousands of youth can have through the Scouting program.
Since it is Friday the 13th, we're not letting any black cats near the building - just your family, friends, and colleagues to cheer you on from the ground below!
How do you do Friday the 13th in Style?
You rappel a skyscraper! It starts with making a commitment to contribute or raise (a minimum of) $1,100 for your rappel experience. A $50 deposit for individual rappellers is required to register and hold your spot. Once registered, you can amaze your family and friends with the daring feat you will take on and ask for their support (any amount big or small) can get your to your fundraising goal.
Proceeds help to underwrite outreach programs for youth in underserved, typically urban, neighborhoods in our community giving those youth opportunities to participate in Scouting's character and leadership development programs...and most of all fun and engaging activities that help them thrive!
