Ella Pedersen hasn't added a story.

Hi,
My name is Ella Pedersen and I’ve been dancing since the age of 4. At the moment, I am studying Tap, Hip Hop, Jazz, Ballet and Lyrical and I am at the studio 4 nights a week. Fundraising is a big part of being on a competitive dance team. I am so thankful for everyones continuous support through out the years.  This Read-a-thon will allow me to brush up on my reading skills but I am up for the challenge :)

Please consider sponsoring me to achieve my goal.
Thank you

Ella

Great things happen when you read (and dance)!

The Paula Davey Competitive Dance Team is doing a “Read-A-Thon” fundraiser to raise money to help them cover costs such as costumes, competition fees and travel.

On Sunday, December 20th, 2020, register your dancer to participate in the Paula Davey Competitive Dance Team's "Read-A-Thon" Fundraising Event! You have two weeks to reach your fundraising goal!

How does it work?

STEP 1: REGISTER

Register your dancer to participate in the Paula Davey Competitive Dance Team's "Read-A-Thon" Fundraising Event. by clicking on the "Register" button above. For every dollar raised results in them reading for one minute. Set a target as your personal fundraising/reading goal! Your goal could be to read 100 minutes (100 dollars), 500 minutes (500 dollars) or 1,000 minutes (1,000 dollars) — the main thing is to challenge yourself or your family and have some fun!

Here's how to register:

  • Register as an individual and set a personal fundraising/reading goal. Share your goal and activity with your supporters! In speaking with your dance school's appointed organizer, we suggest a goal of $500!

Please note: If you wish to have more than one child participate, you will need to register each child individually!

Make sure to share your fundraising/reading goal on your campaign page!

STEP 2: FUNDRAISE

Get the word out to your friends and family and tell everyone about the "Read-A-Thon" starting Sunday, December 20th, 2020 until Sunday, January 3rd, 2021. Ask them to support you by making a donation towards your fundraising/reading goal ! It's as easy as asking 10 people for $50, 20 people for $25, or any combination you can think of!

STEP 3: GET READING

Starting on Monday,  January 4th, 2021 until Monday, January 18th, 2021, each participating dancer will start a virtual, cross-Canada road trip via an innovative reading log program from Mind Growth Education entitled "Read Across Canada". Their daily reading sessions take them on a storybook adventure across this great country, building more reading skills while exposing them to all sorts of fun and educational facts about Canada.

Post about your progress using the hashtag #mindgrowtheducationfundraiser or #pauladaveycompetitivedanceteamreadathon

STEP 4: REAP THE REWARDS

On Tuesday, January 19th, 2021, each participant's family will be receiving an email featuring event highlights and so much more on!

Fun facts!

After completing their reading log program, participants will have had over 500 - 1,000 additional minutes of reading during the school year. This has proven to increase their reading speed, comprehension and higher thinking level. A wonderful byproduct is that they frequently increase time they spend in recreational reading providing a great alternative to video games and social media content.

How will the funds be used?

80% of the net funds raised by this "Read-A-Thon" will be used to help the Paula Davey School's Competitive Team cover costs such as costumes, competition fees and travel. The other 20% is used to pay Mind Growth Education's fee to cover program operations, administrative duties and taxes + the Paypal or Stripe platform  payment processing fee.

Friends and family - Let's show we are a community that cares about these dancers!

See "Fundraisers" below to contribute to a specific dancer or contribute to the whole group (your contributed amount will be divided up equally amongst all participating dancer)!

Thank you for your support!

About Mind Growth Education

Mind Growth Education was founded by Isabelle Baril, a wife, a mother, a classroom teacher and an entrepreneur raised in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada but now lives on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. Isabelle and her team create interactive and fun reading log programs that can be used at home or in the classroom, combining social studies and daily reading, making reading log programs fun again! After her first year in business, Isabelle recognized a huge need for an easier, educational and virtual way to fundraise money for schools and organizations; therefore she created Mind Growth Education's Fundraising Program: Read-A-Thon. Spend time reading not selling! This unique concept is breaking down the barriers of the traditional fundraiser and gets participants to power through a virtual reading adventure and build skills to last a lifetime.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Isabelle, this fundraising campaign's representative via email at info@mindgrowtheducation.com.
