Maisha - The Path of Life rescues orphaned children and gives them a loving home, food, and education - so they can break cycles of poverty, violence, and trauma, and become self-sustainable community leaders.

Over the last 3 years, your generosity has provided Maisha with tranportation (saving thousands of dollars in taxi fares), safe and stable housing, education, and extra-curricular activities.

The kids are now thriving. Thanks to ongoing academic tutoring, 3 students will start high school next year, 2 graduate this December, and 1 starts university this fall. Acrobatics, drumming and yoga keep them healthy, build confidence, and teach them focus, commitment, and teamwork. Computer literacy classes (starting this year) give them tangible skills to join the growing digital economy.

With so much progress made, we are now focused on long-term sustainable care.

Susan, aka "Mama Maisha", the local director of Maisha and grandmother to the youth - has dedicated her whole life to helping others. She is now over 70 years old (and still going strong!). To ensure that her legacy of high quality holistic care continues to serve orphaned youth, we've established the Mama Maisha Fund.

All donations will help transition Mama's responsibilties to the next generation of skilled, nurturing caregivers, so the Maisha kids can continue to grow, thrive, and become independent adults.

$10,000 covers one year of staff salaries (on average, $135 monthly salary for one person).
