Friends and Family,

As you all know, I am a Resident Orthotist at Baker Orthotics and Prosthetics.  A few weeks ago we had a patient came in for an initial evaluation for a new KAFO (Knee-Ankle-Foot Orthosis, aka "leg brace").  He is a refugee from Iraq and does not have health insurance to help pay for an orthosis that he needs to be able to live an independent life.  He has post-polio syndrome, which caused arrested development of his right leg as a child, making it much shorter and weaker than his left leg. We need to provide him with stability and balance with a KAFO so that he can work and take care of himself and his family.

Please give this man the gift of living an autonomous life, and enable him be a provider rather than a dependent.

Thank You,

Batool Summer Siddiqui
