On april 9, 2014, Harley and my other dog got out of the yard after one of my children left the gate open. They were only out a few minutes before my wife noticed and called them back to the house. But apparently one block over there was an incident with the neighbor. The neighbor claims that Harley charged him growling and barking. So the man swung a garden hose at him and Harley left. About 30 minutes after my wife retrieved the dogs, an animal control officer showed up at my house to make sure my dogs were registered with the county and we're up to date on their shots. My dogs were up to date and so there was no citation received. About a week later I received they notice from Harris County telling me that I must surrender my dog because there was a declaration of dangerous dog filed against him. I surrendered Harley 2 days ago and have yet to receive word on when his hearing is. Harley has had two and a half years of extensive obedience training and is quite a gentleman. He goes on regular trips to Petsmart and the dog park and knows how to behave himself in public. To label him a dangerous dog would be a travesty. We are gathering funds in order to pay for his legal defense and any fees or construction that may be imposed. Any monies left over will be donated to another animal in the same situation. Help us #SaveHarley
