Stitch is Labrador mix rescue who is 6 years young and looking for his forever home- he woke up on the morning of February the 3rd whining, shaking and screaming in pain. He was rushed to Wateree Animal Hospital and examined. It was determined that X-rays were necessary to fully diagnose the issue which turned out to be a small bone fragment that has broken off and is lodged in his hip joint, apparently caused by previously undiagnosed hip dysplasia that is only affecting his left leg. The best course of treatment has been determined to be a femoral head ostectomy (FHO), which is a surgical procedure that removes the head and neck from the femur. FHO surgery is performed to alleviate pain, Stitch will be on Rimadyl for pain management in the mean time. The exam, sedation (necessary for the x rays to be done as Stitch is in a lot of pain) and x rays totaled $250 with our rescue discount. Please help Stitch by making a tax deductible donation today to cover these expenses. We will be fundraising for his surgery, which is estimated at $1280. We will be trying to raise $1,530 to cover his expenses throughout this process. We currently owe the veterinarian $9,300 and they will not extend our credit any further so we must raise the funding in order to provide this very necessary surgery for Stitch. Dog4U, Inc. is a 501 c 3 non-profit organization - donations are tax deductible. Thank you for your support! * MARCH 20th UPDATE- Thanks to Dr. Mara Holland at Mill Creek Animal Hospital in Lexington, SC we will now be able to provide Stitch's surgery for $375 less than our initial estimates through our regular veterinary clinic! His surgery has been scheduled for Wednesday, March 26th but we must raise the remaining $210 before that date. The clinic has set up an account for us today so that payments can be called in directly to Mill Creek Animal Hospital at 803-359-1933. The account is under Dog4U, Inc. and the patient's name is Stitch. Thank you once again to everyone who has donated and for those who will consider donating in the future!
