In South Africa many children have lost their parents due to AIDS. After their parents death, they are either left alone or in the care of relatives (aunts and uncles or grand parents) who often have other related orphans to look after.

I will be working with the MusaweNkosi project, linked with UFM, who are working amongst those affected by HIV/AIDS. I will going from September - November 2014. They have a number of projects including a children's home, feeding scheme, sewing project, orphan identification, foster grants, school support, farming and water.

As a volunteer I would most likely be involved in the children's home and feeding scheme, which include helping with homework, teaching the bible and games, as well as visiting (and possibly) teaching in local schools.

For more information visit www.musawenkosi.org.za or www.ufm.org.uk

To be involved in this work I need to raise quite a bit of money! As I will be going as a volunteer I won't be earning during this time and will need to raise the money to cover the cost of living. I would like to use this page to help me raise a significant part of that. I also plan to hold a fundraising event in the near future.

Thank you for your interest and support of my work.
