My name is Eric Anderson.  I am a 36 year-old U.S. Army, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Veteran.  I was medically seperated from the Army in January of 2010.  Upon my release, I had minor cavities in many of my teeth, mostly in my upper teeth.  However, because I no longer had my military dental coverage, and had no source of income while I was looking for work and applying for V.A. disability benefits, I was unable to get my teeth fixed.  I am currently 70% disabled through the V.A. Unfortunately, due to the fact that I am not 100% disabled, I am eligible for medical benefits, but not dental.  So my minor cavities have now become major tooth decay which has caused all of my upper teeth to break, as well as some of my lower teeth, and they get even worse as the extreme decay rots them away.  This has not only had an adverse affect on my physical health, but on my mental health as well.  It has devastated my self-esteem and lead to me becoming extremely depressed.  I am currently a waiter and my appearance is very important to my job. I am unable to really smile and laugh with my customers.  Which, of course, has an adverse effect on my ability to make money with which to pay bills and live.  This also has a negative effect on my personal life making it very difficult for me to pursue a relationship.  Since I have been unable to receive any assistance from the V.A. or the military in getting my teeth fixed, I am reaching out for help from anyone that might be able to assist me raise the money to get upper dentures.  I have no dental insurance so I will have to pay $6,000 to have all of my teeth fixed which not only would give me my smile back, but allow me to eat regular foods again.  My dental issues have made it so difficult to eat foods that I have dropped from a healthy 200 pounds to a fairly underweight 165 pounds. At 6'2", that is about 35 pounds less than I should be. I have already had a couple of tooth infections, and am constantly in a lot of pain from the decay and broken teeth. Please feel free to message me if you have any questions.  If it so happens that I end up raising more money than I need to repair my teeth, any and all remaining funds will be donated to veteran support organizations such as the W.W.P. (Wounded Warrior Project) and the V.F.W. (Veterans of Foreign Wars), among others, so that other veterans might be able to receive the assistance they need that the government has either neglected to, or has been unable to provide.  I thank you for your time and attention to this fund raiser, and I thank you ahead of time for any and all support.
