This summer I shall be working with the LRTT (Limited Resources Teacher Training) team to help improve the education of some of the world's most deprived children by offering free teacher training to local teachers. However I need your help!

Each member of the team (including me!) must raise a minimum of £200 so that over 400 teachers in Tanzania can participate in the training. This, in turn, will impact on the life opportunities of thousands of young people, whose only hope of a healthy future lies in education.

If you’re still not convinced, here are some statistics for you. In Tanzania;
- 20% of people live on less than $1 per day
- Life expectancy = 53 years
- Average class size is 53 pupils per teacher
- 43% of children are illiterate
- Only 7.7% of students graduate to secondary school.
With training, teachers will be given the support they need to ensure their pupils are given the education they deserve, despite the adversities they face and despite limited resources.

In order to earn your support, I am going to be doing the gruelling, ‘Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge’ whereby I will be attempting 25 miles, Pen-yghent (2273 ft), Ingleborough (2373 ft) and Whernside (2414 ft) in under 12 hours! Wish me luck...

Thank you for your support!
