When Danny was born, we realised quite quickly that Danny was unable to eat, just a few hours after he was born, we were told that Danny needed emergency surgery for TOF repair (Tracheo Oesophagul Fistula). After further surgery to repair a second fistula, we finally brought Danny home when he was 8 weeks old.

As Danny missed out on the newborn hearing screening, we went for a hearing test when he was 4 months old, which he passed! We had a follow up appointment when Danny was 6 months old and were told that Danny was profoundly deaf, it didn't really sink in, even when the audiologists said he would not hear a jet engine if he was stood right next to it!

After further testing, the hope of Danny receiving a cochlear implant was gone. Danny has no auditory nerves which the cochlear implant need to work. The only option is to have a Auditory Brain Stem Implant (ABI).

Danny is the most amazing little boy, not only is he gorgeous, funny, happy, healthy, strong and so chilled out, he suprises us every day with his achievements; he can even understand our novice sign language attempts! He takes all the tests/needles/poking and prodding at hospital all in his stride..

We are asking for help in getting Danny his ABI along with the travel expenses for all the follow up appointments in Italy.

Please help Danny to hear, whatever you can give is greatly appreciated and will change Danny's life and ours..
