Max, a 6-month old gray tabby kitten, was rescued on 5/27 from the bushes in a Central Phoenix apartment complex by a kind person. Initially, it appeared he may have been hit by a car and have a broken spine or hips. On 5/28 he was taken to North Scottsdale Animal Hospital for x-rays. The vet reported that he had a cigarette burn on his head and since he had no other evidence of being hit by a car, his injuries were likely due to human cruelty and abuse. It was discovered that he had a severely broken leg which also had bone fragments floating around in the joint. An amputation would be the best option given the complexity of the injury, cost, and recovery time. Max will adjust easily to having only 3 legs, but for now he is in pain and needs surgery ASAP to begin his path to healing and happiness. Despite his difficult past, he remains sweet and loving. Can you help cover the cost of his amputation, neuter, and FeLV/FIV test? We cannot do this without you!
