Right after celebrating his 9th birthday, our nephew, happy and outgoing little Jan Nizinski (we call him Jaś, pronounced "yosh"), was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer called Osteosarcoma.

Fortunately, the cancer was found in its early stages. This gives him a little head start in the fight, but he still has a long and hard battle ahead of him.

We have faith that everything will turn out to be alright, but he is facing months of chemotherapy in order to save his life and hopefully even his leg. The tumor was discovered right above the cartilage in his ankle - an area that is very difficult and costly to operate.

He is asking for your help so he will be able to afford what he knows will likely be a long and rough treatment process, but he knows it is the only choice he has if he wants to recover and have a chance to save a leg that just two months ago was kicking soccer balls and carrying him down snowy hills as he was learning to ski.

The operation he must undergo and the cost of drugs he must take will cost over $100,000.

Jaś appreciated even the smallest contribution as it will help with his treatment in Poland. Jaś and our entire family thank you in advance for any donation you can make and passing this information on for others to read.
