With your help, 6 young Karenni refugees will have the opportunity to attend the LiNK Legal Workshop to voice their people's concerns, apply their legal knowledge in a practical setting, and engage in the democratic process in Burma.
An ethnic group in Burma, the Karenni people have been suppressed and disempowered for decades, and tens of thousands have fled to the Thai/Burma border to escape violence and persecution.

In the current climate of change and reform, it is invaluable that the voices of the Karenni people are heard. With your help, six young Karenni refugees will be able to attend the LiNK Legal Workshop in Rangoon, Burma. At the conference, they will be given the opportunity to voice the concerns of their people to a receptive forum, apply their legal knowledge in a practical setting, and engage in the democratic dialogue, and in the process, be empowered to become leaders of positive change.

The funds raised will cover the travel expenses (return trip from the Thai/Burma border to Rangoon) and the costs of travel documents, accommodation and meals for the 6 attendees for the duration of the conference.
