This regional facility will be a transitional home for teenagers who have aged out of the foster care system. This 18-21 age group is an underserved population in our communities, lacking even the most basic resources that are too often overlooked or forgotten during this crucial gap between teenager and adulthood. For young men with promise, but no resources or adult support to guide them, this can be a discouraging and dangerous time in their lives.

The Safe Landing House will offer a safe place for teenagers in our region to land. A place where they can safely and successfully continue to learn the life and work skills they will need to become independent, productive adults. There are currently many young men living in group homes or foster homes who will soon have no where to go . Turning 18 shouldn't be a time of fear and foreboding. Help us keep these young men off the streets, and give them a safe place to land until they are ready and able to transition into society with hope, and confidence.

The Safe Landing house will also provide housing and services for the homeless population in this vulnerable age category who often end up in adult men's shelters because there are no better options for them.

The Safe Landing House will provide qualifying appicants an interim place to stay, the opportunity to focus on continuing education, receive counseling, and learning the communication and social skills they'll need to succeed in the real world.

Residents will also be offered the opportunity to develop job skills by working for local and area manufacturers needing assembly and other production work at our on sight workshop, or apply for individualized placement with participating businesses to focus on their own particular interests and skills. With enough community involvement, the possibilities are endless.
Let's give these kids a Hand Up, not just a Hand Out. That Hand Up could make THE difference in a young mans life.

As we continue to establish funding and build partnerships with community donors and sponsors, renovating the Safe Landing home is the pressing priority at this time.
We desperately need to be able to keep working on this beautiful, comforting historic house that will become home to those in need. That means our volunteers need to keep working through the winter! There is still painting to be done, and floors to be finished.

Phase One:
Although use of the home is generously being provided at no cost while we get up and running, there are set expenses at this stage that we must cover on our own to keep this project on track. Those immediate needs include filling the 500 gal. propane tank for the winter ($3000.000) as well as covering the monthly fees for electric, gas, sewer and trash (approx. $350.00 mo.) so we can keep working hard this winter and make this idea a reality! The Home is also in need of a functional kitchen makeover, as well as a refrigerator, stove, washer, dryer and twin beds with mattresses.

This is a great opportunity for you to help change the lives of so many who fall through the cracks and may otherwise end up on the streets, in unhealthy vocations, or faced with innumerable roadblocks keeping them from making the transition into adulthood with success.

Please help in any way you can. We've found a need--please help us provide a meaningful solution.
