I asked my Sister to tell me something happy that happened today with Michael, my Autisitc Nephew, she replied with an extraordinary moment:

She said, “Everyday Michael tries to communicate with his friends at school and he ends up stuttering quite a bit making it difficult to get words out he wants to. Every morning we practice how what to say to his classmates and how to say it. This morning Michael grinned and said everything smoothly and correctly! He was so beside himself evoking pure delight as he ran into the grassy field and played with his friends!”

My sister was so proud that all the hard work paid off; moments like this extraordinary one come from the direct attention Michael deserves in a healthy environment. With one parent to work and limited outside help Mom is forced to stay home more. Meanwhile finances are getting so tight they are often in the negative in their bank. They have been so diligent to build up their credit. Currently, they are waiting for their food stamps to be approved, social security pays limited funds, therefore there is no way to save.

Michael is 6 years old and was recently diagnosed with Autism. I love my Nephews but they are too far away for me to directly help them! Living in Phoenix, Arizona, Michael needs regimented patterns to keep him happy and healthy. He has been in and out of the ER since the day he came home from the hospital. In infancy he struggled with several seizures that followed in the years to come. There were many tear-filled hours in the hospital bedside where we didn’t now if we would loose him in such a fragile state.

I a so proud of my Sister and Michael’s Dad of their accomplishments they have overcome and what strenuous obstacles the faced. They moved to Phoenix to begin a new life and create a family away from personal hardships. Dad lost his job and Mom was forced to stop her education in the medical field. I believe success is when you change your life and make choices that others can benefit from helping others to heal and exuding positive energy to better those they reach.

With Dad away and mom working endless hours, Michael needs to be around more family that can help. Although a bubble of love surrounds him created by his parents and extended family in California, Michael needs more direct attention and care. My Sister works trying 12 hour shifts through the night as a nurse and also a second job in hospice, constantly caring for her family and needs of others. Dad has just passed crucial tests for potential work in California doing Pipe Fitting and Construction; we are extremely proud. Dad is currently in California doing small jobs and side work to send little to nothing back to home away from his family.

The Funds Donated are to ensure the safe travel and new beginnings for a small family of four and two therapy dogs. We are looking to raise up to $7,000 to be used solely for Michael’s future in better healthcare and proper education, for moving expenses to California, stability for rent in case a job falls though for Mom or Dad and potential emergencies. These are good people and family that are working towards a dream, please help! Thank you for reading!
