Erin Carnie, (17, Vancouver, BC) a contortionist from Bendy Bodies (Located in Maple Ridge) is curently raising money for a yoga teacher training program in Bali, Indonesia. It is a three week program, which will leave Erin and her duet partner with a internationally reconized certification. This allows them to teach yoga anywhere in the world. The total expenses of the trip will be around $10,000! If you would like to help them get to Bali, please donate or email Erin at for other ways you can help.

About Erin

I am currently a performer and student at Circus Lab in Langley, BC and a former performer from The Underground Circus and Westcoast Contortion and Acrobatics. I started acrobatics with Anne Lawton at Peggy Peats school of dance at the age of 8 and started dancing at 5 years old. Years later and I find myself coaching young acrobats at Dance Fx in Maple Ridge. I have gotten the opportunity to have worked and trained with Otgo Waller, a world-renowned contortionist from Cirque du Soleil and trained on aerial silks with Kristi Toguchi, a Las Vegas performer whom has traveled the world performing her magic shows and aerial acts. I have also trained with former Cirque Du Soleil performers; Ninon Parent and Peter Boulanger. I have completed all my South African Acrobatics exams with honors with distinction, and CTDA exams with honors. When I am not bending myself in half, I spend the rest of my time dancing as I am trained in jazz, contemporary, theatre, tap, ballet, lyrical and hip hop. I recently got into yoga that past couple of years and absolulely love it. It really goes hand in hand with my contortion and dance. Ive found that after a long day of contorting, spending a couple hours doing yoga really helps relief my achy, stiff muscles. I have introduced yoga to all my young acrobats aswell, and they themself truley enjoy it. Yoga is something i am really passionate about and I want to be abe to share and explore the art of yoga with others.

Why Bali?

I am looking to go to Bali in November of this year. I want to go to Bali because it is the fastest, most efficient way of getting my International Yoga Certification (Most of the teacher training where i am from only allows you to teach in Canada) Other reason is i wont be limited to learn from 1 teacher. There will be 5 teachers who will be there to teach and support me in any way needed. The opportunity to travel to Bali would be amazing. It would truley be one of my most memorable trips. To be able to travel, learn and practice yoga would be a dream come true for me. It would also be remarkable 18th birthday!
